vuMailKit is a modern email toolkit for Clarion developers.

It is the next-generation replacement for the original vuMail product and is being developed to help Clarion applications work with modern email systems and authentication requirements.

vuMailKit is designed to provide a mail transport and authentication layer for Windows applications built with Clarion. Its goal is to make it easier for Clarion developers to add reliable email functionality to their applications without having to build and maintain the low-level email plumbing themselves.

Planned capabilities include support for modern authentication workflows, including OAuth where approved and supported by the email provider, along with support for standards-based mail access and related account configuration features.

vuMailKit is intended for software developers. It is not a hosted email service and it is not an identity provider. Developers using vuMailKit are responsible for supplying and managing their own provider credentials and for meeting the requirements of the email providers they choose to support.

OAuth support for providers such as Microsoft and Google is part of the product design.  Support for Yahoo is being pursued through Yahoo's official developer approval process. Any developer who wishes to use Yahoo support in their own shipped application must comply with Yahoo's requirements and approval process as applicable.

At this stage, vuMailKit is being used in a controlled development and demonstration environment so that supported authentication flows can be tested end-to-end and documented accurately for Clarion developers.
